About zcash.school
Tuition free, knowledge zero.
zcash.school is a free, opinionated course in Zcash: privacy, zero knowledge proofs, and how shielded money actually works. It assumes nothing and links to primary sources wherever they exist.
Why this exists
Section titled “Why this exists”Most “learn crypto” material is either a token shill or a whitepaper firehose. Zcash deserves the thing in between: a calm, accurate, end-to-end explanation a curious person can finish in an afternoon and come out actually understanding zero-knowledge money.
This site is the curriculum layer of a small family of projects:
- zcash.me: get a wallet, get moving. The shallow end.
- zcash.school (here): understand why it works. The course.
- zcashnames.com: human-readable names
instead of raw
u1...strings. The usability layer.
Who builds it
Section titled “Who builds it”zcash.school is one deliverable of the Zcash Network School (ZNS), a 90-day program supported by a Zcash Foundation community grant, running at Network School in Malaysia.
Full team and sister-project detail lives on the Team page. The short version: Andre Froes leads the program, James Joseph drives direction and the sister sites, Keiara Desouza and Souvik Mishra execute, and Adam runs events, vendor onboarding, and this site.
What it is, and is not
Section titled “What it is, and is not”- It is a course, a reference, and a set of practical guides (wallets, first shielded transaction, accepting Zcash as a merchant).
- It is independent. The Zcash Foundation funds the ZNS program; the editorial work and opinions here are ours.
- It is not affiliated with the Electric Coin Company, the Zcash Foundation, or ZODL. We link to them; we do not speak for them.
- It is not a wallet, an exchange, a price page, or investment advice.
Accountability
Section titled “Accountability”ZNS posts monthly to the Zcash community forum so anyone can see what the grant funds.
