What this is

Zcash Network School (ZNS) is a 90-day Zcash Foundation–funded program running at Network School in Malaysia, May through July 2026. The deliverables: 6 educational events, 12 office hours, 100 wallet activations, 4 merchant POS installs, and 3 monthly forum reports back to the foundation.

The people running it: Andre Froes (program lead), James Joseph (direction, builder of zcash.me and zcashnames.com), Keiara Desouza and Souvik Mishra (execution), and Adam (events, vendor onboarding, this site). We are independent of the Electric Coin Company and the Zcash Foundation; the foundation funds the work, the work is ours.

What’s actually happening on campus: short evening sessions teaching the zero-knowledge thesis from scratch, weekly office hours for hands-on debugging, and merchant onboarding for the cafés, food vendors, and service businesses already operating at NS. Who’s behind ZNS

We aren’t anonymous, accountability matters for a grant-funded program. Andre Froes leads it; James Joseph drives direction and builds the sister projects; Keiara Desouza and Souvik Mishra execute; Adam runs events, vendor onboarding, and this site.

We post monthly to the Zcash community forum so anyone can see what we’ve done with the grant money.

What ZNS is not

A few honest clarifications, because the crypto world deserves more of these:

• We don’t take a cut of anything. The $5 airdrops are funded by the grant. ZGo and CipherPay setup help is free.
• We aren’t pumping ZEC. If you stop by an event and want to argue monetary policy, we’ll point you at forum.zcashcommunity.com.
• We aren’t your wallet. Self-custody, write down your seed, etc. We teach the principles; you hold the keys.

The only school where attendance isn’t tracked.
