Claim $5 in ZEC
Tuition free, knowledge zero. And $5 in ZEC.
The Zcash Network School grant funds a $5-in-ZEC airdrop for attendees of our events and office hours. The point: you leave with a working shielded wallet and a small balance to actually try it with. This is the same form as /airdrops — submit either URL, doesn’t matter.
Eligibility
Section titled “Eligibility”- You attended a ZNS educational event or ZNS office hours. (See the schedule.)
- You have a Zcash wallet with a Unified Address. If you don’t yet: follow /start, it takes 60 seconds.
One claim per person per program. We aren’t going to gatekeep this hard, but the grant is finite and we want it to reach as many genuine attendees as possible.
Submit your address
Section titled “Submit your address”Submit the form below. You’ll get a confirmation right here on the page. ZEC is sent within 24 hours (often the same day, sometimes on the spot if you’re at an event).
What’s a shielded address?
Section titled “What’s a shielded address?”A shielded Zcash address hides the recipient and amount of a payment
from anyone watching the chain. The Unified Address format (starting
with u1) bundles multiple shielded receivers so the sender’s wallet
picks the most private one both sides support.
If you want the full picture: /protocol/addresses.
Where do I find my Unified Address?
Section titled “Where do I find my Unified Address?”In Zashi/Zodl: tap Receive. The string at the top, starting
with u1, is your UA. Copy it.
In Ywallet or Nighthawk: tap Receive and select the Unified Address option if multiple are shown.
If you don’t have a wallet yet: /start, 60 seconds.
How long does the airdrop take?
Section titled “How long does the airdrop take?”We batch claims daily. Most claims arrive within a few hours. The 24-hour window is the worst case (e.g. if you submit late at night local time). If you’re at an event in person, we may send on the spot.
Is this taxable?
Section titled “Is this taxable?”Probably. We’re not your accountant. In most jurisdictions, an airdrop counts as ordinary income at fair-market value on receipt. Keep a record. Five dollars isn’t going to change your life either way, but the principle matters.
Can I claim more than once?
Section titled “Can I claim more than once?”One claim per person per ZNS program. Multiple submissions from the same address won’t increase your payout, they’ll just slow our review.
